Die Hard (1988) made Bruce Willis an action star but his comedic talent shined in Blake Edwards' underrated and oft-forgotten Blind Date. Walter Davis had one job - to not let his blind date Nadia get drunk. He doesn't heed the warning and the night turns into a series of disasters. John Larroquette steals the movie as Nadia's macadamia of an ex-boyfriend and William Daniels comes in a close second as his goofball father.

ReplyDeleteFrom Google Street View captured Feb 2021, DK's Donuts & Bakery, 7-Eleven are still there, the Cleaners is now a Chinese restaurant, other storefronts in the strip mall appear vacant; Buick dealership across Santa Monica Blvd. in the film is now a Lexus dealership; Nissan Dealership and the building across 16th St have both been demolished and are now parking lots.
This has been on my to do list for a while, but kept getting cut for time. Hope to get it to it next time.
